Friends of the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens promote conservation of regional native plant species which are propagated at the Friends Nursery. These plants range from ground covers, grasses, creepers, small to medium shrubs and large trees suitable for acreage. They specialise in bird, butterfly and bee attracting species to increase the biodiversity of the Gold Coast Region along with bush food plants.
Friends aim to make the public more aware of the beauty and versatility of Australian native flora by creating floral arrangements and native flower bouquets using only Australian plants.
Friends also promote and sell botanical and wildlife books at the Friends Centre at the Botanic Gardens along with bush foods and gifts with a botanical theme.
